20 minutes and a bodyweight workout

Sometimes doing a little more working out can make a big difference. If you have a goal of dropping body fat then the more you move and the more balanced your diet, the faster your results.

Bodyweight workouts are something that we can all do outside of a gym setting. As long as there is an open space. You’ll be able to do squats, lunges, sit-ups, and more in the comfort of your own home. Have a booked schedule? Your workout can range anywhere from a short 20 minutes to an hour making it convenient to fit into a busy day. Even if we feel that there is no time in the day, a few minutes of a bodyweight workout will do wonders in the long run. It’s quick, easy, and convenient! As long as we can have a small block of time available, we can easily get a solid full body workout in.

As a personal trainer, I always suggest to my people that increasing movement can lead to a bigger caloric deficit, tying into the concept of fat loss. A typical full body workout can burn anywhere from 150 to 200 calories, showing that incorporating more movement outside of the gym only does more good than bad. If you find that too intense, a simple walk can do too. There are many ways to approach moving more outside of the gym and these are just a few examples.

If you are adding in an extra routine or day of exercise, remember recovery is key. How well we stretch, eat, and sleep are all very important to recover from your increased movement. Stretching will reduce soreness and increase blood flow. This allows us to continue pushing hard with our workouts and toward our goals. Sleep and post workout protein or aminos will help out muscles repair and become stronger.
